Dog Agility Course at Glover Park Day! June 4th, 2016
|
It was another pup-tastic year at Glover Park Day 2016! Thanks to all our clients, family and friends, especially our four legged furry friends, for stopping by and sniffing around. There were a lot of new paws strutting through the obstacle course this year! The tunnel obstacle seemed to be the most intimidating despite the treasure trove of treats awaiting the bravest of pups. The agility course included weave poles, hoops, tunnels and more! There was also music, food and arts & crafts at the rest of the festival. Enjoy the pictures!

Happy Bark Day at Glover Park Day!
June 7, 2014
Glover Park Day 2014 featured the best of Glover Park. This year Willard won a prize for best time through the obstacle course with a winning time of 59.57 seconds. The competition was stiff with the many happy paws that had a great time bouncing over hurdles weaving through poles and zooming through tunnels. There were also many good friends, great food from local restaurants, live music, crafters, a flea market, community organizations, local businesses, kids’ activities and much more. We hope to see you next year! |

Dog Child Partners with Seed Public Charter School, May 2012
2nd Annual Dog Child Community Service Project Clean-up project
In May 2012 Dog Child partnered with a small group of high school students from the Seed Public Charter School to do our 2nd annual Glover Park community clean-up and animal awareness project. The students selected to participate were taking a class on animal rights and were excited to assist in keeping the environment safe for our community and all our furry companions. In addition, we also set-up a small obstacle course at our local community gardens for a few dog child ambassadors who assisted in teaching the students about the importance of building a relationship and properly training our pets.

Dog Child Agility Course Event At Glover Park Day, September 10th 2011
On September 10th, 2011, Dog Child hosted a dog agility course competition in our neighborhood festival Glover Park Day at the Guy Mason Recreation Center in Washington, D.C. Thanks to all for making Glover Park Day and our dog agility course event a success. Our agility course consisted of hurdles, weave poles, hoopers, a tire jump, tunnel and more. Competition was tough and all our participants went home with smiles and wagging tails. Dog children of varying breeds and sizes came out to strut their stuff on the agility course. While it was a boxer named Spartacus who took the top dog prize with a course time of 54.66 seconds, all of the dog children that participated went home winners in our book. We were quite impressed with how quickly many of our first time agility participants picked up the sport. We hope this event helped strengthen the bond between both parent and dog child and we look forward to hosting another dog agility course event in the near future. Stay tuned for information on our next event on our news and updates page. |
